Question #253
What do “mutual edification congregations” believe?
Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! I hope this message finds you well spiritually and physically. I came across your website while doing some research on mutual edification. The congregation I attend follows this practice. A page on your website gives an answer to the following question - Are located preachers scriptural? In the posted response, several claims are made regarding beliefs of mutual edification congregations. Many of these beliefs are inaccurate and do not reflect what we believe. For example, the supposed difference between teach and preach. I was wondering if you would be willing to open a brief discussion of our positions. Please let me know what you think.
The Answer:
Thank you for your communication. If you will put your arguments in your question, then we will be happy to address them. If a misunderstanding of the position that you espouse has been made it will certainly be corrected. Please be certain that the position to which you object has never been made by any of those who espouse mutual edification.
