Question #329
What happened to the “law” of God in the church?
What happened to the “law” of God in the church? There seems to be a sense of lawlessness don’t you agree? I hear many people say “God put it on my heart” to do or say things. However, the bible teaches clearly teaches that “sin is the transgression of the law (1 John 3:4)” I see that some teach it while others are silent. God has warned us all of false Christianity where there would be “lawlessness(Mathew 7:22-23).”
The Answer:
The problem (or at least one of the problems) is that too many in the body of Christ have adopted the language of Ashdod. Nehemiah 13:23-26. They have heard the denominational world use such phrases and, thinking that they sounded good adopted them though they were unsound. Some of the preachers using such language and those who have fallen prey to the practice think that it makes them sound more religious. After all they are talking about God in their lives and even the highest of honors, God speaks to them in some still small voice laying things on their heart. It is obvious that they have either little respect for the scripture or little knowledge of the scripture. They either ignore or do not understand that the Holy Spirit guides today only through the word of God. Apart from the word of God the Holy Spirit speaks to no man in this day and age.
