Question #408
Must a Christian believe that Jesus is the only way to God?
Must a Christian believe that Jesus is the only way to God in order to make it to heaven?
The Answer:
Please see the answer to Question 275. Jesus said that he was THE way, THE truth and THE life, adding that no man comes to the Father but by him. John 14:6. Clearly one must believe that Jesus is the only way to God. This reveals an error in your question. Technically, it should ask, " Must one believe that Jesus is the only way to God in order to become a Christian?" One cannot become or remain a Christian without believing that Jesus is the only way to God. The term “Christian” can never correctly be applied to one who does not believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that he is the only way to God.
